Originally introduced in 1978, the latest interpretation is the Timberland x Randomevent 3-Eye Classic Lug — a Japanese-exclusive collaboration that reimagines the classic silhouette with design cues inspired by another iconic footwear category: desert boots.

From the Sea to the Sand

Timberland’s yellow boot remains the brand’s most recognizable product, but the 3-Eye Classic Lug holds an important place in the company’s history.

Released shortly after the original Timberland boot, the 3-Eye Classic Lug became one of the brand’s defining lifestyle silhouettes. While this new collaboration maintains the recognizable shape of the original, it introduces several major changes.

The original version featured a full leather upper, including leather laces. This new interpretation technically follows the same approach, but with a much more distinctive execution.

A Desert Boot Influence With Premium Texture

Rather than using traditional smooth leather throughout, the Timberland x Randomevent version introduces two contrasting materials.

The collar and eyestay sections feature hair-on leather, a textured material similar to what is often referred to as pony hair. The rest of the upper uses a soft, hairy suede finish.
